Timed for the global on location requirements of our second season of Native Planet, RealWorld makes a substantial leap forward in our camera acquisition and postproduction capabilities.
A new 4K camera and drone will accompany our current HD package to all six Native Planet shoots. We’ve also acquired expanded audio, lighting and camera stabilization systems that will add tons more production values to our location shoots through 2016.
Completing our 4K migration, a new networked Avid postproduction server and online suite is being installed that significantly enhances the speed, capacity and integration our four dedicated Avid edit suites.
Based on the success of season one’s six one-hour documentaries, RealWorld is now in pre-production on a second season of our international doc series Native Planet. Beginning January 2016, Host Simon Baker will again be travelling the world to explore the unique connection indigenous peoples have with mother earth, and their will to protect it.
With episodes planned for South and Central America, Africa, Australia and south east Asia, our second season of Native Planet will also feature a new and expanded website that gives our viewers a more immersive experience into the fascinating communities, cultures, characters and issues we encounter. The new Nativeplanet.tv is scheduled to launch May 2016 with six new hour-long episodes set to premiere Fall 2017.
Season one is currently being broadcast in Canada, USA, Australia and available on demand in the US and Canada. Watch Native Planet’s Facebook page for sneak peeks at our upcoming stories.
