From their homes and business in and around Red Deer, Alberta, “Checkers or Wreckers” takes you inside the personal, professional and racing lives of established Ultra 4 race stars Eric Brinker (“Brink”), Ryan Stambaugh and Shawn Holland. Brink’s booming car fabrication shop, ‘Brink Fab’ is home base for “Checkers or Wreckers”. Here this mechanical savant engineers, builds and repairs race cars he’s fabricated for himself; Ryan, the heart and soul of the team, and Shawn, a pedal to the metal adrenaline junky. The success of Ryan and Shawn’s oil patch firefighting company, ‘HellFire Suppression Services’, provides them the time and means to compete on this grueling, expensive circuit but also serves up a supporting story lines that add humor or increase the stakes. As each one-hour story unfolds, we follow the team inside Brink’s garage as they plan for each race – build, test and prepare their cars – setup at race sites across Canada and the US – before pushing themselves and their car to the absolute limit.
