Northern Air Rescue – Now in production across Manitoba

Since mid-September, we’ve been filming on location in The Pas, Manitoba for our current docuseries, Northern Air Rescue.  Each episode takes you inside the world of Indigenous-owned Missinippi Airways to see how they transport passengers, patients, and cargo to the remote First Nations communities that define this part of Canada.  Flying in and out of their Grace Lake terminal, a tiny airport the Mathias Colomb Cree Nation also owns, we’ve met a host of fascinating characters – from a passenger who claims they saw Sasquatch to the lovable mechanics and grounds crew who keep their air ambulance and regularly scheduled flights in the air.  Despite the thousands of kilometers we’ve driven, through treacherous roads and bad weather, telling stories about the committed people and pilots who keep this airline flying, makes it all worthwhile.
